I Wish For You

Jan 25, 2013

This 2013, I wish for you..................

the joy of always having someone to share things with

that sometimes, just sometimes you can buy what
you REALLY want, not what will do

Mui Mui

Alexander McQueen Skull Clutch

the joy of opening a favorite book, the soothing
first page, the first familiar words

the joy of your footsteps being the first in
freshly fallen snow

the joy of the perfectly made coffee on a cold,
Winters morning

the joy of living in the moment
(just watch how a child does this ;-)

the joy of finding the perfect present

the joy of  of finding exactly the right retort-
succinct, memorable and at the exact time,
and not half an hour too late
(as usually happens to me ;-)

the joy of Spring and how it is
always better than you dared expect

the joy of being necessary to someone

the joy of the perfect reading nook where you
can escape from  every day "noise" and disappear
into the pages of your book

But most of all I wish that in 2013 there will always be something you want to learn,
something you want to do, somewhere you want to go, someone you want to meet,
and that whatever happens this year you continue to grow and find your bliss.

What do you wish for yourself this 2013?

Ideas

Jan 20, 2013

Ideas are something that are always
buzzing around my head especially at the beginning
of the year (more so than at other times it seems).

Sometimes I have so many ideas buzzing
around that I get "analysis-paralysis" and
do nothing!

But someone directed me to this gorgeous
quote:

"Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life-

think of it, dream of it, live on that idea.

Let the brain, muscles, nerves.........every part
of your body be full of that idea,

and just leave every other idea alone.
This is the way to success.
That is the way great giants are produced."
(Swami Vivekananda)

Did this resonate with you?

What do you think about only having
ONE idea at a time? (that's the line that I
want to fight against ;-)

I would love to hear your thoughts on ideas, only having
one idea at a time to achieve greatness or having a
multitude?

What mechanisms do you use to keep your
dreams/ideas alive?

Golden Globe Sparkles

Jan 17, 2013

OK, we have all "ooh-ed" and  "aahh-ed" over the Golden Globe
dresses. What about the sparkles ;-)

The lovely Jessica Alba with a "Miss Winston" necklace
from the King of jewels-Harry Winston.

Amy Adams went for a pair of Tiffany pendant earrings
to accentuate her blush pink Marchesa gown

I wasn't that keen on Jennifer Garner's Vivienne Westwood
dress, but I loved her David Webb earrings

Julianne Moore accessorised her monochrome Tom Ford
gown with yellow gold + diamond chandelier
Bulgari earrings

Kerry Washington matched the beading on her
Mui Mui dress with Chophard diamonds set into a
ring and a timepiece

Michelle Dockery wore my favorite dress of the event which she
accessorised with rose gold Bulgari emeralds +
diamonds

I didn't really like Rachel Weisz's dress, but loved her
'Serpenti' bracelet. The husband's not bad either ;-)

Salma Hayek wore a while gold + diamond Iréne
bracelet by Boucheron to accessorize her
strapless Gucci dress

My winner (OK, she wasn't at the GG but
should have been ;-)

How beautiful is she?

Who was your fav at the GG's?

My Mantra

Jan 12, 2013

At the beginning of the New Year I like to
pick a mantra that I try to live by daily.

I don't always remember.

But I try ;-)

This year I've picked:

Be Calm. Be Kind.
As Everyone is Struggling to Survive
(I saw this somewhere but can't for
the life of me remember where)

Here's the thing. Whenever I am in a situation
that would have normally "got under my skin",
such as yesterday when I was in a shop and the assistant
was behaving as though she was doing me a favor by
taking my money.

I just said this mantra to myself
and MY perspective, vibration,
energy (whatever you feel makes you
tick) changed. "Miserable Milly" was
still the same, but I felt different;
I just let the situation wash over me.

Here are two others I've posted
on my office/study wall as a daily
reminder

This one has been particularly relevant since
I left Spain and returned to the UK to look
after my Dad

And if all else fails.....................

Do you have a saying/mantra/quote for 2013?
Would love to hear them.
Happy weekend Lovelies
xxxx

Dreams

Jan 2, 2013

It's that time of the year again
when we burst into the New Year with
renewed vigour, new visions........
new dreams

But if you are anything like me, you know that
by the end of January those very same
visions, dreams, goals will have been completely
diluted to fit in with someone else's vision, or
would have been abandoned altogether

Sometimes we have to keep our dreams and visions sacred
until our resolve, decisions, goals are not feeling
so wobbly, timid or fragile.

Sometimes we have to give our dreams time to grow, to
become strong and solid before we share our vision.

Just remember:

Oprah was demoted from her job as a news
anchor because she "wasn't fit for television".
She didn't let that affect her dreams

Steve Jobs was left devastated when at age 30
he was unceremoniously removed from the
company that he started.
He didn't let that affect his dreams

Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper
for "lacking imagination" and "having no original ideas".
He didn't let that affect his dreams

Michael Jordan was cut from his high school
basketball team.
He didn't let that affect his dreams

So my lovelies, don't let someone else
snatch away your dreams.

Let 2013 be the year you allow your dreams to
grow and become strong and solid.

YOU know when your vision feels right.

Don't let outside opinions muddy your vision,
information overload overwhelm you
or the judgements of others add doubt to your mind

Let 2013 be the beginning of something exciting,
something you've dreamt about for a long time.

No-one says you have to achieve huge things this year.

But if you just take one step............
that will be enough

Happy 2013 Lovelies
xxxxx
